I came into network marketing very cautiously. I saw all the cut and paste scripts, felt the robotic systematic approach of people in sales, and said “If I am going to do this, I am going to do this authentically. I am going to be someone who serves my customers from the heart and connects with their needs.” It irked me to no end when I would see all the same people from the same company using the same words, the same line up of posts, and you just feel like you are a part of someone’s “get”.
Six years later I understand why it happens. People want there to be ease and simplicity in what they do. I agree- going into a business should not make you a slave to your phone, trying to come up with content all the time, but the other side of that does not mean you have to become a robot. One day you will wake up and feel like you are a “salesperson” because you didn’t put your heart and soul behind your message if you pick ease over relating. And here is the real secret- when you tap into your message you are meant to share then sharing content becomes EASY and not a burden.
I love teaching on this! I surround myself with people who love to teach on this. There are ways you can simplify your workflow w/o giving up your voice. There are ways you can run your business w/o going live AND STILL show people what you are about. There are ways you can connect with someone- BASED OFF OF YOUR PERSONAL LIFE EXPERIENCES. You are not a carbon copy.
One of my favorite sayings is “I don’t want to gain the whole world and lose my soul.” I fought for this industry to not stay in its robotic systems of the past that gave it a bad name and I will continue to talk until people realize you will not get to new heights of your business until you do the work to authentically connect with people. I believe this so much that it is in our team name! It is not until you do that work of understanding what magic you bring to the table that you will elevate into a space of truly connecting with a community that loves and trusts you.
